Checked and Cabin Baggage Policies
For domestic, transatlantic and transpacific flights, American Airlines allow a maximum of 10 bags to be checked, with the weight not exceeding 23kg (unless you are First or Business class, in which case your bag may not weigh over 32kg). If you are travelling to, through or from Mexico, Caribbean, Central America, South America or Brazil you may only check a maximum of 5 bags. Flights to Brazil allow bags to weigh up to 32kg, yet all other options must not exceed 23kg.
